In 1861 Pirogov settled on the estate Vyshnia and continued practicing medicine. A lot of sick people with various diseases came to the doctor for advice and medical help.
Pirogov approved and promoted the development of the country medicine. Based on in-depth study of life of the population of Podillya province and on his personal rich experience, he came to some important social-hygiene conclusions and identified the role of the state in disease prevention.
The display includes Pirogov’s estate purchase documents, materials describing his activity as a Conciliator, photos of his wife, sons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, and also his friends and colleagues such as Fridrich Mering, Philip Karel, Joseph Bertenson.
